When you form a business, state agencies will require you to appoint a registered agent. It is a contact between your company and government offices. They let you know when you are served, and give you important tax and legal notices.

The registered agent must always be in a set location during normal business hours. It must also have a physical address within the state a business is formed in. Any changes to the location must be reported to the state using the proper forms.

Using a registered agent service, rather than being your own, allows you to come and go as you please. If you act as your own registered agent, you will be required to stay at one location during normal business hours every business day of the week.

ZenBusiness offers a registered agent service. When we act as your registered agent, any documentation that we receive is uploaded to your ZenBusiness account. You can access it easily by logging in and going to the documents section of your dashboard.
