To file a business amendment through ZenBusiness, log in to your dashboard, go to Compliance → Amendments, click Get an Amendment, and provide the details of what's changing. ZenBusiness prepares and files the amendment with your state. Processing takes 1–4 weeks depending on the state; the state filing fee applies.

- Log in at zenbusiness.com
- Click Compliance in the left navigation
- Select Amendments
- Click Get an Amendment
- Choose the type of change (name, address, membership, etc.)
- Enter the specific details of the change
- Review the information for accuracy
- Confirm and pay — you'll pay the state filing fee (and ZenBusiness service fee if not on WFC Essentials/Advanced)
- ZenBusiness prepares and submits the amendment to your state
- You'll receive email confirmation when the state accepts the filing
After Filing
- ZenBusiness processing: ZenBusiness prepares and submits your amendment to the state within approximately 7 business days of receiving your completed information
- State processing: After ZenBusiness submits, most states take 3–5 weeks to review and approve. Total time from order to completion is typically 4–6 weeks, though some states are faster and some are slower.
- Expedited option: ZenBusiness offers an expedited processing tier that moves your filing to the front of the queue for faster submission. Expedited service is selected at checkout.
- Confirmation: ZenBusiness notifies you when the state accepts the filing and uploads the confirmation to your dashboard documents
- Public record: Your updated information appears on the state's Secretary of State website after processing
- IRS notification: For business name changes, also file IRS Form 8822-B to notify the IRS of the name change. Your EIN does not change.
