How to Check My Order or Formation Status
To check your order or formation status, log in to app.zenbusiness.com, go to your Dashboard, and look for the status indicator on your formation order. Active formations show a progress timeline with the current step. You can also check your email — ZenBusiness sends status updates at each major milestone.
Where to Find Your Formation Status
In Your ZenBusiness Dashboard
- Log in at app.zenbusiness.com
- From your Dashboard, look for your business formation order
- The status bar shows where your filing is in the process:

Standard processing time varies by state — typically 3 business days to 4+ weeks. Expedited processing is available in most states.

What to Do If Your Status Hasn't Updated
If your formation status hasn't changed in several days and you expected it to:
- Check your email — the state or ZenBusiness may have sent a request for additional information
- Log in and check your dashboard — look for any alerts or action items
- Contact support — call (844) 493-6249 with your order number ready; we can check directly with the state
Common reasons for delays:
- State processing backlogs (especially in popular states like Florida, Texas, Delaware)
- Missing or unclear information on the filing
- Name conflicts requiring additional steps
- State offices closed for holidays
Where to Find Your Formation Documents
Once your formation is complete, all documents are available in your ZenBusiness dashboard:
- Log in → click Documents in the left navigation
- Your Articles of Organization (or Articles of Incorporation for corporations), EIN letter, and operating agreement appear here
Documents typically appear in your dashboard within 1–2 business days of formation completion.
Frequently Asked Questions
My formation has been "Submitted to State" for two weeks. Is something wrong?
Not necessarily — state processing times vary widely. California, New York, and several other states regularly take 3–6+ weeks for standard processing. Check your email for any state-specific communications, and contact ZenBusiness support if you'd like us to check your status directly.
I ordered an EIN but it's not showing up. Why?
ZenBusiness cannot file for your EIN until the state approves your formation. Once formation is complete, EIN processing typically takes a few more business days. If it's been more than 7 business days since formation was approved, contact support. See Where to Find My EIN.
Can I see my formation documents before the state approves them?
Not usually — documents are uploaded to your dashboard after the state accepts the filing. If you need to review the documents being submitted, contact support before filing is sent to the state.
I received a message asking for more information. What should I do?
