How to Delete and Restore Transactions in Money Pro
To delete a transaction in Money Pro, open the transaction from the Expenses or Income list and choose Delete. Deleted transactions move to the Archived area rather than disappearing permanently. You can restore them later if needed, which makes cleanup safe when removing duplicates or incorrect imports.
When to Delete a Transaction
Delete transactions when:
- You imported the same CSV twice and created duplicates
- A transaction synced from the wrong account
- A manual entry was created by mistake
- A transaction belongs outside the tracked period
If the transaction is valid but partly personal, use Split instead of deleting it.
Delete a Single Transaction
- Go to Expenses or Income
- Click the transaction
- Choose Delete from the transaction options
- Confirm the deletion
The transaction moves to Archived.
Bulk Delete Multiple Transactions
- Go to Expenses or Income
- Use filters for date range, account, or vendor to isolate the group
- Turn on Bulk Select
- Select the transactions you want to remove
- Click Delete
This is the fastest way to clean up duplicate CSV imports.
Restore an Archived Transaction
- Go to the Archived area or apply the Archived filter
- Open the transaction you want back
- Click Restore
When restored, the transaction returns with its original category and notes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does deleting a transaction remove it forever?
No. Deleted transactions are archived, not permanently erased. You can restore them later.
If I delete a synced bank transaction, will it come back?
It can, depending on your bank connection and date range. If the underlying bank feed still includes it, the transaction may reappear. If you're trying to prevent re-import, adjust the account's start date or disconnect the account before re-importing CSV history.
What's the difference between delete and archive?
In Money Pro, deleting a transaction sends it to the archived state. "Archived" is the restoreable holding area for deleted records.
