What Happens to My Data After Canceling Money Pro?

After canceling Money Pro, your data is retained for 90 days after your billing period ends. During those 90 days, you can log in, view everything, export all your data, and reactivate your subscription to restore full access. After 90 days, your data is archived and no longer accessible — export before then.

The 90-Day Retention Window

During Your Billing Period (Before Cancellation Takes Effect)

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — the month or year you already paid for. Until then, you have full Money Pro access.

Days 1–90 After Your Billing Period Ends

Your Money Pro account enters a read-only retention window:
- ✅ View all transactions, invoices, and mileage records
- ✅ Export transactions, reports, invoices, and mileage data
- ✅ Reactivate your subscription — your data fully restores immediately
- ❌ Cannot add new transactions or sync new data from your bank

Bank credentials are removed immediately at cancellation for security — this stops future syncing but does not affect your stored transaction history.

After 90 Days

Your data is archived and is no longer accessible through Money Pro. If you resubscribe after this point, you start with a completely fresh account — archived data cannot be restored.

Export Your Data Before Day 90

Don't wait until you need it — export everything now, while you have access:

Transactions

  1. Go to Expenses or IncomeExport
  2. Set the date range to cover all years
  3. Select CSV format
  4. Download and save

Invoices

  1. Go to Invoicing
  2. Download individual invoices as PDFs, or click Export All for a bulk download

Tax Reports

  1. Go to ReportsTax Reports
  2. For each year you used Money Pro, download:
  3. Schedule C Report (PDF + CSV)
  4. Profit & Loss Statement (PDF + CSV)
  5. Mileage Detail List (CSV)

Receipts

Receipt photos attached to transactions are accessible through the transaction view. Download them individually from the transaction detail page, or contact support about bulk receipt export options.

What Happens to Your Bank Connection

Your bank credentials (stored securely through Plaid) are disconnected immediately when you cancel. This happens for your security — no one should have read access to your bank account through Money Pro after you cancel.

This does not affect:
- Your bank account itself — it remains open and active
- Your stored transaction history in Money Pro (available for 90 days)
- Your ZenBusiness Banking account (if you have one) — completely unaffected

Reactivating After Cancellation

When You Reactivate What Happens to Your Data
Within 90 days of billing period ending All previous data fully restored
After 90 days Data is archived — new account starts fresh

To reactivate: log in at app.zenbusiness.com → Account Settings → Subscriptions → find Money Pro → Resubscribe.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my data backed up somewhere even after 90 days?

ZenBusiness retains archived data internally for legal and compliance purposes, but it is not accessible to you after the 90-day window. Export your data before the window closes — there is no recovery option after archival.

Will canceling affect my tax history that I've already used for tax filing?

No — once you've filed taxes using Money Pro reports, the tax returns themselves are stored with the IRS and your own records. Losing access to Money Pro doesn't undo anything you've already filed. However, you should export your historical reports before canceling in case you need them for an audit (the IRS can audit up to 3 years after filing).

What if I cancel by accident before exporting?

You still have 90 days after your billing period ends to log in and export. Contact support immediately if you're concerned — we can clarify exactly when your access window closes.
