My ZenBusiness Banking Application Is Stuck in Pending
Most ZenBusiness Banking applications are reviewed instantly or within 1–3 business days. If your application has been in "Pending" for longer, the most common cause is a document request that hasn't been completed. Check your email and dashboard for a document upload prompt before contacting support.
What "Pending" Means
"Pending" has two different meanings depending on your situation:
Under review — Your application was submitted and is being reviewed by ZenBusiness and Thread Bank. Many applications approved instantly; others take up to 3 business days. No action needed from you yet.
Waiting for documents — ZenBusiness sent you a document request by email and is waiting for you to upload the required files. Until you upload them, the application stays in "Pending" indefinitely. This is the most common reason applications appear stuck.
Step 1 — Check Your Email for a Document Request
Search your inbox (including spam/junk) for email from ZenBusiness about your banking application. Look for subject lines like:
- "Action Required: ZenBusiness Banking Application"
- "Documents Needed for Your Banking Application"
- "Complete Your ZenBusiness Banking Application"
If you find a document request, follow the link in the email to upload the requested documents. Accepted file types: PDF, JPEG, PNG (up to 20 MB).
Step 2 — Check Your Dashboard for Upload Prompts
If you can't find the email, check for upload prompts directly in your dashboard:
- Log in at zenbusiness.com
- Go to Banking → Overview
- Look for a banner or prompt asking you to upload documents
- If present, click through and upload the requested files
Commonly requested documents include:
- Government-issued ID (passport or driver's license)
- Proof of address (utility bill or bank statement dated within 30 days)
- Business formation documents (Articles of Organization or Operating Agreement)
- Certified partnership agreement or trade name certificate (for certain business types)
Step 3 — Know the Normal Timeline
If you submitted your application recently and no document request has been sent:

Step 4 — Contact Support If You've Waited More Than 3 Business Days
If it's been more than 3 business days, no document request arrived, and your dashboard shows no prompts:
Contact our support team and include:
- Your business name
- The date you submitted the application
- Any error messages you've seen
Some applications require manual intervention by the operations team to advance — this is a known issue for applications submitted before certain system updates. Support can check your application status and escalate to the banking operations team if needed.
Frequently Asked Questions
My application has been pending for 2 weeks. What should I do?
Check your email (including spam) for a document request from ZenBusiness. If nothing is there, log in to your dashboard and look for an upload prompt under Banking → Overview. If still nothing, contact our support team with your business name and application submission date — extended pending cases require manual review.
Does a pending application mean I was denied?
No. "Pending" means your application is under review or waiting for additional documents. A denial is communicated with a separate status. If you have not received a denial notice, your application is still being evaluated.
Why was my application denied instead of just staying pending?
Common denial reasons include: unsupported business type (cryptocurrency, cannabis, gambling, adult entertainment, money services), identity verification failure, or country of residence not meeting requirements. Denial does not affect your credit score. If you believe the denial was in error, contact our support team to discuss your options.
The dashboard shows my application was approved, but I still can't access my account.
There can be a sync delay between when ZenBusiness marks an application as approved and when full account access appears in your dashboard — typically a few minutes to an hour. Log out, clear your browser cache, and log back in. If account access doesn't appear within a few hours of approval, contact our support team.
Can I apply again if my application has been pending too long and I want to restart?
Do not withdraw and resubmit your application without speaking to support first. Resubmitting creates a duplicate application and does not speed up review. Contact our support team and ask them to check your existing application status.
