Depositing Money in ZenBusiness Banking

You can deposit money into a ZenBusiness Banking account by transferring from a linked account, using an eligible debit card for instant deposits, depositing checks from a mobile browser, or receiving ACH and wire payments from third parties. Deposit timing depends on the method: linked-account transfers typically take 3 to 4 business days, while mobile check deposits usually take 5 to 7 business days.


Overview

ZenBusiness Banking supports four ways to deposit money: transfers from a linked account, instant debit card deposits, mobile check deposits, and receiving ACH or wire payments from third parties. Each method has different limits, timing, and eligibility rules covered in this article.


Deposit Money from a Linked Account

If you own the other bank account, linking it is usually the simplest way to move money into ZenBusiness Banking.

How linked-account deposits work

After linking an external account, you can move funds into ZenBusiness Banking from the Banking dashboard.

Steps to deposit from a linked account

  1. Log in to your Banking dashboard on desktop or mobile.
  2. Click Move money.
  3. Choose Deposit money.
  4. Select the linked account you want to pull funds from.
  5. Enter the amount.
  6. Click Review transfer.
  7. Submit the transfer.

Pending transfers appear in the dashboard while they are processing.

Use Instant Debit Card Deposits

Instant debit card deposits let you move money into ZenBusiness Banking using an eligible Visa or Mastercard debit card that you own.

Where instant debit card deposits are available

Instant debit card deposits are available from desktop or mobile browser. They are not yet available in the ZenBusiness mobile app.

How to make an instant debit card deposit

  1. Log in to your ZenBusiness Banking account.
  2. Open the Banking dashboard.
  3. Click Move Money.
  4. Choose Instant deposits.
  5. Add or select an eligible debit card.
  6. Enter the amount and submit the transfer.

Eligibility rules

Eligibility rules:

  • Only Visa and Mastercard debit cards are supported
  • The card must be owned by you
  • Some cards may still be ineligible due to issuer restrictions
  • Transfers are subject to review before funds are released

Instant deposit limits

  • Minimum per transfer: $25
  • Maximum per transfer: $1,000
  • Maximum per day: $1,000
  • Maximum per month: $10,000
  • Maximum instant debit card deposits per day: 3

Timing

Instant debit card deposits are available 24/7/365 including bank holidays. All transfers are subject to review, which can occasionally delay availability.


Deposit a Check from a Mobile Device

Mobile check deposit is available from a mobile browser only — not desktop, and not in the mobile app yet.

Steps to deposit a check

  1. Log in to your ZenBusiness account from a mobile browser.
  2. Go to Banking and then Overview.
  3. Click Move Money.
  4. Select Check deposit.
  5. Follow the instructions on screen.
  6. Upload photos of the front and back of the check.
  7. Enter the deposit amount.
  8. Click Submit.

Receive Money by ACH or Wire

Customers or third parties can send payments directly into your ZenBusiness Banking account by ACH or wire transfer.

How to find your account details

From a computer or mobile browser:

  1. Log in to your Banking dashboard.
  2. Go to Account details.
  3. Review your account information.

From the mobile app:

  1. Log in to the ZenBusiness mobile app.
  2. Use Show account details below the account balance widget.

ACH and wire deposit timing

There is no fixed ZenBusiness limit for third-party transfers. Timing depends on the transfer type and the sender's bank.


Transfer Reviews and Federal Holidays

ZenBusiness periodically reviews deposits and transfers. Reviews can affect ACH, debit card, wire, and check transfers in or out of your account and may result in:

  • Delayed, blocked, or canceled transfers
  • Funds being frozen or held
  • Funds being applied to a negative balance or offsetting an overdraft-related loss
  • Account suspension or termination
  • Funds being seized to comply with a court order or other legal process

ZenBusiness may request additional identity or account documentation before restoring full access.

Federal holidays can also affect banking timelines. If a transfer or check deposit is initiated close to a banking holiday, processing may take longer because business-day timelines pause on holidays.

When a deposit matters for payroll, vendor payments, or urgent expenses, it is safest to plan around business-day processing windows rather than assuming same-day availability.

FDIC insurance

Through the Thread Bank deposit sweep program, your deposits may qualify for up to $3,000,000 in FDIC insurance coverage across program banks, with up to $250,000 per program bank in the same ownership capacity. Contact customerservice@thread.bank with questions about the sweep program.

Instant debit card deposit is the fastest option — available 24/7/365 including bank holidays. You need an eligible Visa or Mastercard debit card that you own. Per-transfer limit is $1,000 (maximum $10,000/month, 3 deposits/day). Transfers are subject to review.

My ACH transfer is taking longer than expected — why?

Same-day ACH is available for transfers initiated before 2 PM ET on business days. Transfers after 2 PM ET process the next business day. Weekends and federal holidays pause processing. First-time transfers from a newly linked account may also have a longer hold. Check transfer status in Banking → Transactions.

My mobile check deposit was rejected — what went wrong?

The most common cause is an incorrect endorsement. On the back of the check, sign your name and write "For mobile deposit at Thread Bank" below your signature. Also confirm you are using a mobile browser (not the app and not desktop) and that your photos are clear and in good lighting.

Can I deposit cash into ZenBusiness Banking?

No direct cash deposits are supported. To deposit cash, deposit it at a personal or traditional bank first, then link that account and transfer via ACH. Same-day ACH is free. ATM withdrawals are supported but cash deposits at ATMs are not.

What routing number do I give for ACH or wire deposits?

My instant debit card deposit was declined — what should I do?

Check that the card is a Visa or Mastercard debit card (not credit) and that it belongs to you — ZenBusiness verifies card ownership by name and address. Some card issuers also block third-party pull transactions by default. If declined, contact your card issuer to allow the transfer, or use a linked account ACH instead.

Why is my deposit under review and when will it clear?

ZenBusiness periodically reviews deposits for fraud and compliance. During review, the transfer may be delayed or held. You may receive a request for additional documentation. Funds are safe and FDIC-insured while under review. Contact support with your transaction details if the review has lasted more than 2 business days.
