How to See Which Invoice Payments Are Included in a Stripe Payout

To see which invoice payments are included in a Stripe payout, open the payout in Stripe's Payouts or Balance section and review its included transactions or payout reconciliation report. In Money Pro, Stripe payout reconciliation is automatic when the payout bank account is connected through Plaid, so most customers do not need to manually match each Stripe fee or payment.

How Money Pro Handles Stripe Payout Reconciliation

Money Pro has an API connection to Stripe for online invoice payments. When the bank account receiving Stripe payouts is connected to Money Pro through Plaid, Money Pro can automatically connect the pieces:

  • The invoice payment made through Stripe
  • The net Stripe payout deposit that appears in your bank feed
  • The Stripe processing fees deducted before deposit
  • The paid invoice status in Money Pro

This means you usually do not need to manually create fee transactions or manually link every payout to every invoice. The key requirement is that the bank account receiving Stripe payouts must also be connected to Money Pro through Plaid. If Money Pro cannot see the payout deposit in the bank feed, automatic reconciliation may not complete.

Step 1 — Open the Payout in Stripe

  1. Log in at stripe.com with the Stripe account connected to Money Pro.
  2. Go to Balance or Payouts.
  3. Select the payout you want to review.
  4. Review the transactions, payments, fees, adjustments, and arrival date shown for that payout.

Automatic Stripe payouts can include multiple payments and fees. The payout amount often does not match one invoice total because Stripe deposits the net amount after processing fees and may batch more than one invoice payment together.

Step 2 — Compare Stripe to Money Pro

In Money Pro, open the invoice list and check the paid invoices for the same date range. Then check your bank transactions for the Stripe payout deposit.

If the payout bank account is connected through Plaid, Money Pro should be able to match the Stripe deposit to the paid invoices and create fee transactions automatically. This helps prevent double-counting income: the invoices are your income, and the Stripe deposit is the settlement of those invoice payments.

If the deposit appears as ordinary income instead of a Stripe payout settlement, the payout may not have matched automatically.

Step 3 — Check the Plaid Bank Connection

If the payout exists in Stripe but does not reconcile in Money Pro, confirm the receiving bank account is connected and syncing:

  1. Go to Finance → Money Pro.
  2. Open Banking, Connected Accounts, or Banks & Integrations.
  3. Find the bank account that receives Stripe payouts.
  4. Reconnect or refresh the account if Money Pro shows a connection issue.

If you changed your Stripe payout bank account recently, connect the new receiving account to Money Pro. The old account may still be connected, but Money Pro needs the account where Stripe is depositing money now.

When Manual Review Is Useful

Most customers do not need manual Stripe reconciliation, but reviewing a payout in Stripe can help when:

  • A payout amount is different than expected
  • Multiple clients paid invoices around the same time
  • A payout seems delayed or missing
  • Money Pro does not show the payout deposit yet
  • A bank account was changed in Stripe
  • A Plaid connection was disconnected or stale

Manual review is for investigation. For ongoing bookkeeping, keep the payout bank connected through Plaid so Money Pro can reconcile Stripe payouts automatically.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to manually enter Stripe fees in Money Pro?

Usually no. Money Pro can create Stripe fee transactions automatically when the Stripe payout bank account is connected through Plaid and the invoice payment was processed through Money Pro's Stripe connection. If the receiving account is not connected, automatic fee creation may not work.

Why does a Stripe payout not match one invoice amount?

Stripe payouts are net deposits. They can include multiple invoice payments, minus card or ACH processing fees, and sometimes adjustments. That is why the payout deposit often does not equal a single invoice total.

Where do I find the transactions inside a Stripe payout?

Log in to Stripe, open Balance or Payouts, select the payout, and review the included transactions or reconciliation details. Stripe can also provide payout reconciliation reports for deeper review.

Why is my Stripe deposit showing as income in Money Pro?

This can happen when the payout deposit is not matched to the underlying invoices. Confirm the payout bank account is connected through Plaid and syncing. If needed, open the deposit in Money Pro and look for an invoice linking or matching option.

Does this work for PayPal, Square, or other processors?

No. The automatic Stripe payout workflow depends on Money Pro's Stripe connection. Other processors may need a manual clearing-account or bank-transfer workflow unless they are separately integrated.
