What is Money Pro?

Money Pro is ZenBusiness's bookkeeping and invoicing software for small businesses — built for people who'd rather run their business than manage their books.


Overview

Running a small business means wearing a lot of hats. Bookkeeping is usually the one nobody wants to wear — but keeping accurate financial records is essential for tax time, understanding your cash flow, and protecting your business. Money Pro exists to make that job as painless as possible.

At its core, Money Pro connects to your bank account and automatically pulls in your transactions, categorizes them into IRS tax-deductible expense categories, and keeps a running record of your business finances throughout the year. Instead of sorting through receipts and bank statements every April, you have clean, organized records ready to hand off to your accountant — or to use with ZenBusiness Tax Services for a complete filing.

Money Pro is built specifically for sole proprietors, freelancers, and small business owners filing on Schedule C. It handles the most common needs: tracking what you spend, sending invoices to clients, logging business miles, and generating the tax reports your accountant needs. It is bookkeeping software — not full accounting — which means it does what most small business owners actually need without the complexity (and cost) of tools built for larger companies.

Money Pro works on the web at app.zenbusiness.com and through the ZenBusiness mobile app on iOS and Android. You can categorize expenses from your laptop in the morning and capture a receipt photo from your phone after lunch. Your data syncs across devices so nothing falls through the cracks.


What's Included

Money Pro includes everything a sole proprietor or single-member LLC needs to stay on top of their finances:

  • Automatic expense tracking — Connect your bank account and transactions sync automatically throughout the day. No manual entry required for anything that hits your business account.
  • Smart transaction categorization — Money Pro organizes your expenses into IRS Schedule C categories (Advertising, Office Expenses, Business Meals, Travel, and 20+ others) so your books are always tax-ready.
  • Invoicing — Create, send, and track invoices directly in Money Pro. See when a client views an invoice, when it's paid, and send reminders for overdue accounts.
  • Mileage tracking — Log business trips in the mobile app. Money Pro applies the current IRS standard mileage rate and generates a mileage report for your records. (2025 rate: $0.70/mile; 2026 rate: $0.725/mile.)
  • Receipt storage — Photograph receipts with your phone and attach them to transactions. Useful if you ever face an IRS audit.
  • Tax reports — Generate a Schedule C expense report, Profit and Loss statement, and expense summary anytime. Download as PDF or CSV for your accountant.
  • Tax filing integration — If you use ZenBusiness Tax Services, your Money Pro expense data flows directly to your tax preparer — no re-entering numbers.
  • Web and mobile access — Full features on the web; receipt capture and mileage logging optimized for mobile.

Who Money Pro Is For

Money Pro is the right fit if you are:

  • A sole proprietor or single-member LLC filing personal and business taxes together on Schedule C
  • A freelancer or service business who invoices clients and needs to track what they owe you
  • A small business owner with up to ~500 transactions per month who wants automated tracking without hiring a bookkeeper
  • Someone who has been managing expenses in a spreadsheet and wants to stop doing that

Money Pro is probably not the right tool if you:
- Have inventory that needs to be tracked and valued
- Run an S-Corp or partnership with complex multi-form tax filing requirements (check with your accountant — Money Pro's Schedule C reports may still be useful to you)
- Need payroll software (Money Pro does not handle payroll)
- Require multi-currency support

Money Pro lives inside your ZenBusiness account. To get started:

  1. Log in to your ZenBusiness dashboard at app.zenbusiness.com
  2. Click Finance in the main navigation
  3. Select Money Pro

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Money Pro cost?

Money Pro is $30 per month or $300 per year. The annual plan saves you $60 compared to paying monthly. Both plans include all features — there's no tiered version with limited features. You can cancel at any time with no cancellation fee, and there's no long-term contract.

Is Money Pro included in my ZenBusiness plan?

Some ZenBusiness formation and compliance bundles include Money Pro. To check what's included in your plan, log in to app.zenbusiness.com, click your profile in the top right, and go to Account Settings → Subscriptions. If Money Pro is listed there, it's already included.

What's the difference between Money Pro and basic bookkeeping?

Basic bookkeeping gives you a simple place to record income and expenses manually — it's useful if you have fewer than 10 transactions per month and prefer a hands-on approach. Money Pro automates the process: your bank syncs automatically, transactions are categorized without manual entry, and you get invoicing, mileage tracking, and tax reports built in. If you find yourself spending more than 30 minutes a month on bookkeeping, Money Pro will pay for itself in time saved.

Is Money Pro full accounting software like QuickBooks?

No — and that's intentional. QuickBooks is built for businesses with inventory, payroll, balance sheets, and multi-entity reporting. That power comes with significant complexity and cost. Money Pro is designed for the much larger group of small business owners who need clean expense records, invoicing, and a tax report at the end of the year — without an accounting degree. If your accountant asks for a Schedule C expense report, Money Pro has you covered.

Can I use Money Pro for multiple businesses?

Each Money Pro subscription is designed to track one business's finances. If you operate multiple businesses, set up a separate Money Pro subscription for each one. Keeping your records separate ensures your expense reports, invoices, and tax data are accurate per business and avoids headaches at tax time.

Does Money Pro work for S-Corps?

Money Pro is primarily built for Schedule C filers — sole proprietors and single-member LLCs. S-Corps have different tax filing requirements (Form 1120-S) and require payroll for owner compensation. Money Pro can still help you track expenses and generate Profit & Loss reports, but you'll want to confirm with your accountant that those reports meet your specific S-Corp filing needs.

Can I access Money Pro on my phone?

Yes. The ZenBusiness mobile app on iOS and Android includes full Money Pro access. The mobile app is especially useful for capturing receipt photos on the go and logging business miles immediately after a trip. Your data syncs with the web version in real time.

Does Money Pro file my taxes?

No. Money Pro organizes and prepares your financial records for tax time — it does not file your taxes on its own. When you're ready to file, you can use your Money Pro reports with your accountant, import them into tax software, or use ZenBusiness Tax Services (which integrates directly with Money Pro to pull your data automatically).
