Set Up and Access ZenBusiness Business Email

ZenBusiness Business Email requires a domain registered through ZenBusiness. Create the inbox from zenbusiness.com → Web Tools → Email, then sign in at mail.zenbusiness.com with the full business email address. The supported ZenBusiness-domain setup normally configures email routing automatically, so do not add DNS or MX records yourself.

Before You Set Up the Inbox

Confirm that the domain appears as active under zenbusiness.com → Web Tools → Domains and that your account includes a Business Email subscription. Each purchased inbox creates one address, such as info@yourbusiness.com; additional team or role addresses require additional inboxes.

ZenBusiness Business Email cannot be created on a domain purchased from another registrar. If your domain is at GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace, or another provider, keep it there and choose an email provider that supports externally registered domains, such as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365. See Set Up DNS and Email for Your Domain Without Breaking Either for that path.

If you purchased a ZenBusiness domain and Business Email together, you normally do not need to change MX records. Setup should create the supported email configuration automatically.

Create Your Business Email Address

  1. Sign in at zenbusiness.com.
  2. Go to Web Tools → Email.
  3. Select the active ZenBusiness domain.
  4. Choose the address you want before the @, such as hello, info, or your name.
  5. Finish setup and wait for the inbox to become available.
  6. Open mail.zenbusiness.com and sign in with the full new email address.

If setup shows a permission error or does not complete, wait 15 minutes and try once more from the dashboard. If it still fails after 30 minutes, contact our support team. Do not purchase another subscription and do not enter guessed DNS records to fix an address-creation error.

Sign In to Webmail

Go to mail.zenbusiness.com and use the full business email address as the username. If your activation message included a temporary password, use it for the first login, then go to Settings → Password and choose a permanent password.

If the password does not work, use Forgot Password only if recovery was previously configured. Otherwise, contact support for a manual reset. The ZenBusiness mobile app does not contain the business inbox; use webmail in a browser or connect the account to a mail app.

Set Up Password Recovery

Password recovery is not enabled automatically. Configure it while you can still sign in:

  1. Open mail.zenbusiness.com → Settings → Password Recovery.
  2. Choose SMS or email recovery.
  3. Enter the phone number or email address that should receive recovery codes.
  4. Enter the current business email password and save.
  5. Enter the response token sent to the recovery method and save again.

After verification, you can reset a forgotten password from the webmail login screen. If recovery was never configured and you are locked out, support must verify access and reset the password manually.

Add Email to a Phone or Computer

ZenBusiness Business Email can be used through webmail or connected to common mail apps with IMAP and SMTP. Use the dedicated instructions for the device you want to configure:

The verified incoming and outgoing mail server is mail.b.hostedemail.com, with IMAP port 993 and SMTP port 465 using SSL/TLS. These are mail-app server settings, not MX record values for DNS.

Fix Setup, Login, or Delivery Problems

First identify which step is failing:

  • The address cannot be created: retry once after 15 minutes, then contact support after 30 minutes. This is an address-creation issue, not a reason to buy another inbox.
  • Webmail rejects the password: confirm the full email address is the username, try a private browser window, and use password recovery if it was configured.
  • You can sign in but messages do not arrive: check Spam, then review whether the domain’s nameservers or DNS records recently changed.
  • Email stopped after a website connection: preserve the website A/CNAME records and restore the email provider’s records at the active DNS host. Use the DNS and Email Setup Guide.
  • A mail app fails but webmail works: the inbox is active; recheck the app’s IMAP/SMTP server, ports, username, password, and SSL/TLS settings.

Do not use the mail-app server hostname as a guessed MX value. If ZenBusiness Business Email routing needs to be restored, support should verify the supported domain configuration.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a ZenBusiness domain to use ZenBusiness Business Email?

Yes. ZenBusiness Business Email requires a domain registered through ZenBusiness. A domain registered at GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace, or another provider cannot host a ZenBusiness Business Email inbox. Keep that domain at its current registrar and use an email provider that supports third-party domains instead.

Do I need to configure DNS or MX records myself?

Usually no. When a ZenBusiness-registered domain is paired with ZenBusiness Business Email, the supported email routing is normally configured during setup. Create the inbox under Web Tools → Email. If setup fails or messages do not route, contact support to verify the configuration instead of entering guessed MX values.

Where do I log in to ZenBusiness Business Email?

Go to mail.zenbusiness.com and sign in with your full business email address and password. The inbox is not inside the ZenBusiness mobile app. You can use webmail in a browser or connect the account to a supported phone or desktop mail app using IMAP and SMTP.

What if I have never set a password?

Check the activation message for a temporary password and use it for the first login, then change it under Settings → Password. If no temporary password works, try the Forgot Password option only if recovery was configured. Otherwise, contact support for a manual password reset.

Is password recovery enabled automatically?

No. After you can sign in, go to Settings → Password Recovery, choose SMS or email, verify the recovery destination with the response token, and save. If you are locked out before configuring recovery, support must manually reset the password after verifying account access.

Why do I see a permission error while creating email?

A permission error means the inbox setup did not finish. Wait 15 minutes and retry once from Web Tools → Email. If it persists after 30 minutes, contact support with the domain and the address you tried to create. Do not buy another subscription or change DNS to fix it.

Why can I use webmail but not Outlook, Gmail, or Apple Mail?

If webmail works, the inbox is active and the problem is usually the mail-app configuration. Verify the full email address as the username, mail.b.hostedemail.com as both server hostnames, IMAP port 993, SMTP port 465, SSL/TLS, and the current password. Then remove and re-add the account if needed.

Why am I not receiving email?

Check the Spam folder and send a test from an unrelated address. If the domain’s website, nameservers, or DNS recently changed, confirm that email records still exist at the active DNS host. Use the DNS and Email Setup Guide, and contact support if ZenBusiness Business Email routing needs to be restored.

Can I forward ZenBusiness email to Gmail or another inbox?

Yes. Sign in at mail.zenbusiness.com, open Settings → Mail Forwarding, add the destination, and choose whether to keep a copy in the ZenBusiness inbox. Forwarding is an inbox setting and does not require DNS changes. Keeping a local copy makes troubleshooting and recovery easier.

Still Need Help?

If setup, login, or delivery still fails after the matching steps above, contact our support team with the domain, business email address, exact error, and when the problem began.
