ZenBusiness Domain Guide
Your ZenBusiness domain is managed from your dashboard under Domains. From there you can update DNS records, change nameservers, link to a third-party website, and connect a ZenBusiness-built site. Domain transfers to another registrar are allowed 60 days after registration — contact our support team via chat or email to get your transfer code.

Manage Your Domain Settings
You can update DNS records and nameservers from your ZenBusiness dashboard.
How to access domain settings
- Log in to your ZenBusiness dashboard.
- Click Domains.
- Select the domain you want to manage.
- Make your changes.
If ZenBusiness is not hosting your website, get the DNS record details from your website provider first, then apply them here.

Link to a third-party website provider
- Get the DNS or nameserver records from your website provider's help center or support team.
- Log in to your ZenBusiness dashboard and go to Domains.
- Update the DNS records or nameservers with the values your provider gave you.

Change Your Domain Name
If you just placed your order and want a different domain name, contact ZenBusiness as quickly as possible. We may be able to change it before the order is processed with the registrar.
If the domain has already been registered with the registrar, the name cannot be changed. You will need to purchase an additional domain at $25 per year. ZenBusiness can switch your business email to the new domain at no extra charge.
Transfer Your Domain to Another Registrar
You can transfer your domain to another registrar 60 days after registration.
How to transfer
- Contact our support team via chat or email to request your transfer code.
- Start the transfer with your new registrar.
- Check your email for a consent request from ZenBusiness and click the approval link.
If you do not click the consent link, the transfer takes an extra week. During that time your new registrar may say ZenBusiness has not released the domain — that means the consent email is still waiting for your action.
Note: ZenBusiness does not issue partial or full refunds on the original domain purchase when you transfer.
After Purchasing a Domain
Once your domain is registered, focus on three things:
- Build your website — use the ZenBusiness website builder or connect a third-party platform.
- Set up your business email — get a professional address like you@yourbusiness.com. ZenBusiness business email includes a 5 GB inbox, spam filtering, an unlimited contact address book, and syncing across devices.
- Promote your business — social media, blogging, and directory listings are low-cost ways to drive traffic to your new site.
Before You Register: Required Account Information
Domain registration through ZenBusiness pulls contact information directly from your ZenBusiness account. If required fields are missing or incomplete, registration fails with a vague error. Verify these before you try to register:
- Business name — must be filled in, not blank
- Physical business address — must include street, city, state, and country (the missing country field is the most common registration failure)
- Account email address — used for the verification email
- Phone number — required for ICANN domain contact records
To update your business contact information: go to Account Settings → Business Info and confirm all fields are complete.
My domain registration failed — what do I do?
- Go to Account Settings → Business Info and look for any blank fields, especially country
- Fill in any missing information and save
- Return to Web Tools → Domains and try registering again
- If the error persists with all fields complete, contact our support team — they can check your entity contact record for missing fields not visible in the dashboard
Domain Verification Email
ZenBusiness sends your domain verification email as soon as the domain is registered.
- If you do not see it, check your spam folder.
- If it has been more than 24 hours, contact our support team to troubleshoot.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I transfer my ZenBusiness domain to another registrar?
Yes, after 60 days. Contact our support team to get your transfer code, then start the transfer with the new registrar. Click the consent email ZenBusiness sends you to avoid a one-week delay.
Is there a refund if I transfer my domain?
No. ZenBusiness does not refund the original domain purchase when you transfer to another registrar.
Can I change my domain name?
Only before it has been processed with the registrar. Contact ZenBusiness immediately after placing the order if you need a change. After registration, you would need to purchase an additional domain at $25/year.
Where do I update DNS records or nameservers?
Log in to your dashboard, go to Domains, select your domain, and update the records from there.
How do I point my domain to a third-party website?
Get the DNS or nameserver details from your website provider, then apply them in Domains in your dashboard. Contact the Web Services team if you need help.
When should I get my domain verification email?
Right after the domain is registered. If it has been more than 24 hours, check spam and then contact our support team.
My domain registration failed with an error. What do I do?
The most common cause is a missing country field in your business contact information. Go to Account Settings → Business Info and make sure all fields are complete — especially country. Then retry the registration from Web Tools → Domains. If it fails again, contact our support team with the error message you see.
If I cancel my domain, what happens to my website and email?
Canceling your domain affects any services connected to it. Your ZenBusiness website will lose its custom domain and revert to a ZenBusiness subdomain. Your ZenBusiness business email (which requires your ZenBusiness-registered domain) will stop working — email sent to your @yourdomain.com address will stop delivering. Cancel the domain only if you intend to stop using both the website and email tied to it. Contact our support team before canceling if you want to preserve your email or website.
My domain is on a cancelled ZenBusiness account. Can I transfer it?
Domain transfers from a cancelled account cannot be completed through normal self-service tools. Contact our support team with your business name and domain name — support can initiate the transfer process on the backend. Note: you still need a valid account at the receiving registrar to complete the transfer.
